"Christians", writes A.W. Tozer in the opening chapter of The Root of the Righteous, "should be both as a tree well rooted and as a temple to rise on a solid foundation." Without a sound root, there is no lasting life, he explains as he challenges the reader to focus not on the fruit, but on the deep roots from which fruit comes. In this thought-provoking classic, Tozer examines how we can make sure we are "among the righteous," rooted and built up in Christ.

The Root of the Righteous is A.W. Tozer's own collection of articles that he first wrote for Alliance Life magazine when he served as editor (1950— 1963).
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
A.W. Tozer (1897—1963) began his lifelong pursuit of God at the age of seventeen after hearing a street preacher in Akron, Ohio. A self-taught theologian, Tozer was a pastor, writer and editor whose powerful use of words continues to grip the intellect and stir the soul of today's reader. "A 20th-century prophet" they called him even in his own lifetime. For 31 years he was pastor of Southside Alliance Church in Chicago, where his reputation as a man of God was city-wide. Concurrently, he became editor of Alliance Life, a responsibility he fulfilled until his death in 1963. His greatest legacy to the Christian world has been his more than 40 books, including this one.
